Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
Cellabration ("we," "us," "our") provides a platform for event hosts to collect and display photos, videos, and voice messages from event guests. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
1. Information we collect
From event hosts (the person who creates an event and signs in):
- Name and email address, via Google Sign-In
- Event details you provide: event name, tagline, venue, date
- Payment information, if you upgrade an event (processed by Stripe — we do not store your card details ourselves)
From event guests (people who scan a QR code to upload):
- Photos and videos you choose to upload
- Voice recordings you choose to submit
- An optional name and caption, if you choose to provide them
- We do not require guests to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address or phone number to upload content
Automatically collected:
- Basic technical data (IP address, browser type, device type) for security and reliability purposes, such as detecting abuse or debugging upload failures
2. How we use this information
- To operate the core service: displaying approved photos/videos on the event slideshow and gallery, and voice messages in the host's private dashboard
- To screen uploaded content using an AI service (see Section 3) before it becomes visible to other guests or on the venue screen
- To communicate with hosts about their account or event
- To process payments for paid events
- To maintain and improve the reliability and security of the service
3. AI content moderation
Photos and video thumbnails uploaded by guests are automatically analyzed by a third-party AI service (Anthropic) to screen for content that may be inappropriate for public display (such as nudity, violence, or hateful content). This screening happens before content is shown to other guests. AI screening is not perfect — hosts retain the ability to review and override any automated decision from their event dashboard.
Uploaded captions may also be included in this screening process.
4. Third-party service providers
We use the following third-party providers to operate Cellabration. Each processes data on our behalf under their own privacy and security practices:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Hosting of photos, videos, voice recordings, and event data; host authentication |
| Anthropic | AI-based content moderation of uploaded photos and captions |
| Stripe | Payment processing for paid events (once activated) |
| Vercel | Website hosting and delivery |
We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we do not use uploaded photos, videos, or voice recordings for advertising purposes.
5. Photos and videos of other people, including minors
Cellabration is typically used at events (weddings, birthdays, and similar gatherings) where guests photograph and are photographed by other attendees, including, in many cases, children.
The event host is responsible for their event and its guests. By creating an event, hosts are responsible for informing guests, in whatever way they see fit, that photos and videos may be collected, displayed on a screen at the event, and stored by Cellabration. Approved photos and videos are visible to anyone with the event's gallery link — which typically means all of the host's guests, not only the host — as well as on the event's live slideshow, if enabled. Guests who upload content are responsible for having any consent needed from the people appearing in that content, particularly when uploading photos or videos of minors who are not their own children.
Cellabration does not independently verify the identity, age, or consent status of any person appearing in uploaded content. If you believe a photo or video of you or your child has been uploaded without appropriate consent, contact us using the information in Section 9 and we will work with the event host to address it.
6. Upload windows and data retention
- Free events: guests may upload content for up to 1 month after the event date. Content remains accessible in the gallery and dashboard for that same 1-month period.
- Paid events: guests may upload content for up to 6 months after the event date. Content remains accessible for 12 months after the event date.
After an event's storage period ends, content associated with that event may be deleted from our systems. Hosts who want to preserve content beyond these windows should download it before the applicable period ends.
Hosts may request earlier deletion of their event and its associated content at any time by contacting us.
7. Your choices and rights
- Guests: because uploading does not require an account, guests who wish to have specific content removed should contact the event host directly, or reach us at the contact below with enough detail (event, approximate upload time, description) for us to help locate it.
- Hosts: may delete individual photos/videos from their admin dashboard, or request full event deletion by contacting us.
- Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable law (such as the right to request a copy of your data or its deletion). Contact us to make such a request.
8. Children's privacy
Cellabration is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect account information from children. However, because the service is used at family events, photos and videos submitted by hosts and guests may depict children as part of normal event photography — this is addressed in Section 5. If you are a parent or guardian with concerns about a photo of your child, contact us.
9. Security
We rely on our infrastructure providers' security practices (see Section 4) and apply access controls so that only an event's host can moderate or manage that event's content. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
